Many many years ago, my mom and dad had an album (yes a VINYL record! In a CARDBOARD sleeve - I'm ancient don't you know) by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass. It was called "Whipped Cream" and the lady was wearing a whipped cream dress with a very full "skirt". When Mom was getting rid of things, she remembered I loved that album cover and gave the record to me. That's the long story of what this cover reminds me of. And I'm probably the oldest one here and no one else has any idea what I'm talking about.

Just to prove it's real: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/images/B0007MRXUQ/sr=1-1/qid=1258782294/ref=dp_image_0?ie=UTF8&n=5174&s=music&qid=1258782294&sr=1-1

But when I was little I never even noticed the sensual overtones of the covergirl.

D, We have this exact album -- on vinyl in the cardboard sleeve. You should know by now that we pretty much have EVERYTHING. :D Actually, we have an incredible vinyl collection. Over 250 of them, of various genres. Not surprising, given UW's family, several of them are polka.

ROFL Femme - I have some polka records. My mom used to dance around the living room holding us (VERY young). It's a wonderful memory! And I have her mom's 78 record player! I have 4 collections of vinyls. Frank's, mine, his and mine, and Bob's. Kind of like our house - eclectic. From ABBA to you name it. I wish I hadn't sold my Partridge Family albums. They might be worth something today on e-bay. Or not.

oops. Make that 5 collections. The 5th are the ones my mom gave me.

Hey, I have Herb Albert and the Tijuana Brass too.
Whipped cream and other delights.
They recently redid the photo at an art shoot and tried to duplicate the look.

A polka is the traditional wedding music for a wedding in Ohio.

I wonder if a scientific survey would show that there's a correlation between being a faithful reader/commenter on UW's pages and owning a Whipped Cream album!

LOL ,maybe.

Well, with the MP3 conversion the records are still useable, so probably. A lot of the old language LPs we have are unavailable, and some of the polka ones are very hard, if not impossible, to find.

Matt, UW's father is a certified accordian instructor. I've heard a lot of polka since I married into the family.

If you ever get to Ohio, there will be at least one polka played.
(Triple score if somebody has an accompanying tuba.)

La Femme

The Girl's boyfriend (yes, my 7 year old has a boyfriend), plays the slide trombone and the trumpet. Maybe I can get him to take up the tuba, too. Although that seems like it would be a bit big for a 7 year old.

Nah - you have to have him take up the accordian. and a one-a and a two-a.....

Are you a fan of cat polka? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEjKk5Kt3rs

La Femme

We already have an accordian player. :)

Me with an accordian player, you and UW getting jiggy with it side saddle on a horse...

La Femme

Side saddle's too precarious. Must be an english style.
